What is Galvanized Steel Enclosure?
JUSHUN galvanized steel enclosure is a kind of machine enclosure made of galvanized steel plates through sheet metal processing technology. The most common products include outdoor galvanized steel enclosure, custom galvanized electrical enclosure, and IP65 galvanized steel cabinet. Galvanized steel is a steel plate with a zinc coating on its surface. The steel plate is protected by forming a zinc layer through a series of processes (SECC/SGCC, hot-dip galvanizing vs. cold-dip galvanizing). Due to its high cost-effectiveness and when the shell needs to have corrosion resistance, galvanized steel is often used as a substitute for stainless steel.

Durability and Strength
The galvanized steel casing of JUSHUN always has zinc react with oxygen before steel, thus protecting the steel inside.
Temperature resistance
Our galvanized enclosures can ensure the equipment stable operation within a temperature range of -30°C to +120°C because of its temperature resesistance.
Light-duty applications
Unlike stainless steel, which requires a thicker overall thickness to guarantee corrosion resistance, galvanized steel casings are lighter while still meeting strength requirements. This is why many galvanized steel enclosures are used as rail transit control boxes.
Aesthetic Appeal
Electroplating, polishing, spraying and stickers surface treatment can be chosen, or a combination of acrylic, wood boards, glass, and machined parts can be selected to make the enclosure structure more aesthetically pleasing.
Corrosion Resistance in Harsh Environments
The zinc coating of JUSHUN galvanized steel≥80μm,which allows it against rain, snow, and even the harshest UV rays.
Cost-Effectiveness and Budget Considerations
Under the same performance requirements, due to its lower cost, JUSHUN's galvanized steel would be a more economical and effective choice than stainless steel.
How to define a good galvanized steel enclosure?
With the development of technology, we see more and more machines that combine software and hardware in our daily lives. The shell hardware often plays a role in beautifying the appearance and protecting the internal software and equipment. Therefore, how to calculate a good sheet metal shell is particularly important. We will discuss this topic in the following artical.
SECC VS. SGCC
Jushun has two options for galvanized steel: hot-dip galvanized steel sheet (SGCC) and cold-rolled galvanized steel sheet. The difference between them is the different galvanizing processes. Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet has a thicker zinc layer, while cold-rolled steel sheet has a more beautiful appearance. These two types of galvanized steel sheets have their own advantages, and Jushun will make different choices based on your different product needs.

Galvanized steel VS. Stainless Steel
Jushun’s stainless steel and galvanized steel enclosures are both very popular for outdoor applications because they have very similar performance. Our stainless steel material is well known for its excellent corrosion and rust resistance. But in comparison, if you have the same standard corrosion protection requirements, the price of galvanized steel will be lower. Therefore, when economy becomes your important consideration, galvanized steel material will be our first recommendation.
Construction
We always strive for structural perfection in our production. Therefore, we require smooth, seamless welds on the galvanized steel exterior. Both double and single doors are hinged. To prevent infiltration, we use a mechanical interlock, allowing the double doors to overlap and close for a stronger seal. Furthermore, all door frames are fitted with oil-resistant gaskets. Grounding studs are provided on the doors to ensure electrical safety. A literature pocket inside the door is optional.

In short, every choice before buying is important. As an expert in custom sheet metal chassis, Jushun will recommend the most suitable product for you based on your needs. The most suitable one is the best.
FAQs
Certification?
The materials of galvanized steel enclosure are environmentally friendly and compliant, with RoHS and SGS certifications. The products comply with many national standards. For products from different industries, Jushun will provide you with certifications in accordance with different national standards and assist in applying for certificates. For example: Outdoor chassis (NEMA certified, IP protection).
What kinds of surface treatment do we have?
Generally, due to different application scenarios and usage requirements, JUSHUN will carry out various surface treatments on galvanized steel plates, such as: frosted, mirror finish, painting, or film application. The matte surface is more anti-slip, wear-resistant and easier to hide scratches than the mirror surface. Of course, the advantage of a mirror surface is that it is flatter and more aesthetically pleasing. Painting and film application are carried out to further optimize performance (such as enhancing corrosion resistance).
What is the service life of a galvanized steel enclosure?
In typical outdoor environments (urban and industrial areas), hot-dip galvanized steel enclosures (≥80μm zinc coating) typically last 10–15 years without major repairs. With secondary protective treatments such as powder coating, painting, or film coating, the lifespan can be extended to approximately 20 years. Powder coating combined with regular maintenance can extend this to 10–15 years.
How can I maintain galvanized steel enclosures to extend their service life?
We recommend regular cleaning, such as wiping off dust, stains, salt, or accumulated water every 3–6 months to prevent accumulation and corrosion. Use warm water or neutral detergents; avoid strong acids or bases.
Regular Maintenance: If the galvanized steel enclosure is scratched or damaged, repaint or apply rust-proofing treatment promptly. Replace easily worn parts, such as awnings and sealing strips, promptly. If the enclosure is used in specialized industries (chemical or coastal areas), anti-corrosion spraying or anodic protection is recommended.
