What is the difference between an enclosure and a junction box?
A junction box is a container enclosure for connections, it is usually a combination of metal and plastic, but sometimes just metal. Our junction boxes include removable modules to aid installation. Also it has clear lids so that you can see the contents of the box without opening the box. But any little box can be an enclosure, they can be used in a range of applications such as mounting security cameras and housing industrial controls.
Metal Junction Box or Plastic Junction Box?
Jushun specializes in producing metal junction boxes. Our metal junction boxes also feature a flat covering for greater resistance to corrosion and rust. What’s more, metal has a good performance in hard-wearing and fire resistance. If you’re working with a metal clad cable that requires grounding, then a metal junction box is a good choice as well. Some types of non-metallic casings do not adhere to grounding regulations and local building codes, and some can’t handle the generated heat. If the cable is non-metallic, plastic junction box should be fine.
